Spin Sauce

 

We were brought on by a local agency to tackle the rebrand & accompanying new packaging concepts for Spin Sauce, a NY-born, middle eastern-style family of sauces that compliment damn near anything you decide to put them on.

The challenge — present an eye-catching brand & packaging system that sparks consumer interest while simultaneously educating on the intricacies of what Halal means in regards to the muslim dietary standard. Oh yeah, there was one more challenge — because of a production schedule time crunch, the identity and the packaging were to be developed simultaneously.

 

Spin Sauce has an impressive history. Originally a proprietary sauce from The Halal Shack, a chain of restaurants inspired by New York City street food that combine the best of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors with a classic American spin, the incredible popularity of the sauces eventually necessitated a B2C marketing plan and unique visual identity.

We presented three unique style boards, illustrating proposed logos, image treatments, pattern/illustration styles and label designs. After landing on the chosen option, we quickly jumped right into the die lines to populate the label information hierarchy, which was a challenging undertaking given the fact that your average consumer has very little familiarity with American Halal, and the benefits that come along with it.

The end product — A family of sauce offerings and an accompanying website that pulls the double duty of further educating consumers on American Halal and providing direct-to-consumer sales.
